Ed Shaughnessy is very much alive. He is the director of the Skidmore Jazz Institute Summer program. I just got back from Skidmore; and although due to personal matters he didn't make it this year, he is alive.

I could have sworn that Ed died a few years back but maybe I'm wrong. Played in a big band with him back in college and he was REALLY a strong drummer. I thought Buddy Rich played loud. It was fun though. I miss the old Johnny Carson show days with Ed and the big band.

Today being the 12th Feb.2008, I ask the question as to whether Ed Shaughnessy is still alive? If so, is there a way to get in touch with him.
Thanks for his biography.
